Tanjong Rhu is an upscale residential neighbourhood in Kallang in the south-eastern part of Singapore. As defined by the Urban Redevelopment Authority, the Singapore Sports Hub is within the boundaries of Tanjong Rhu. The Central Area of Singapore is located across the Marina Channel, and Marina East is to the south of Tanjong Rhu across the Benjamin Sheares Bridge. Tanjong Rhu is served by Tanjong Rhu Road, which will be the location for the future Tanjong Rhu MRT Station. The area is connected to other parts of Kallang via Mountbatten Road. ==Etymology== ''Tanjong Rhu'' is an old place name in Singapore that appeared in de Erédia's 1604 ''Map of Singapore'', referred as "Tanjon R". This area was formerly known as Sandy Point. The Malay name comes from the casuarina trees, referred to in Malay as ''pokok rhu'', where ''ru'' is the ''casuarina littoria'', that grew along the beach. It is known as ''sha tsui'' in Cantonese, which means "sand spit". 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Tanjong Rhu」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
